At the Feddersen Group booth, four companies are showcasing their latest innovations designed to help their customers succeed in the marketplace. One company in this group is Akro-Plastic. The specialist in custom plastic compounds has brought three highlights to Fakuma 2026.

Benchmark for Thermal Resistance

To protect against thermal runaway in electric battery systems, Akro-Plastic is showcasing the polyamide Akroloy PARA GF 35 1 FR orange (8039). The material combines high mechanical strength with targeted thermal insulation properties for crash-relevant components. When a 2-mm-thick material sample is exposed to temperatures exceeding 1,000 °C, the temperature on the back of the component remains below 100 °C for a period of ten minutes. The thin wall thickness enables compact installation dimensions and weight reduction in vehicle manufacturing. Short cycle times in the injection molding process also help reduce unit costs in mass production.

PA6 recyclates perform just like virgin material

In addition, the compound manufacturer is expanding its material family Akromid Eco with another recycled compound based on polyamide 6. The recycled content from post-consumer materials (PCR) in accordance with DIN EN ISO 14021:2021 is over 30%, and the material’s performance profile matches that of virgin material. As a result, the new Akromid B3 GF 30 ECO black (9172) grade helps processors meet the legal recycled content requirements mandated by the EU End-of-Life Vehicles Directive (ELV). Compared to the standard fossil-based Akromid B3 GF 30 1 black (2485), the partial product carbon footprint (pPCF) according to DIN EN ISO 14067:2018 is reduced by 38%. “We look forward to discussions about projects that require sustainable materials,” explains Thilo Stier, Director of Sales and Innovation at Akro-Plastic.

PP for the additive manufacturing of large components

For the tool-free production of one-off parts and small batches, Akro-Plastic offers Akrolen PP ICF 30 AM black (8344), a carbon-fiber-reinforced polypropylene for large-format 3D printing. The integrated carbon fibers ensure high stiffness and minimal warpage during the printing process. This combination of properties enables the additive manufacturing of complex, large-scale components, as demonstrated at the trade show by partner Zeisberg Carbon with a kayak over 5 m long. Polypropylene’s low matrix density and negligible water absorption make the material ideal for lightweight construction applications in humid environments.

At the joint booth, the Feddersen Group’s partner companies also cover the entire value chain, from AI-supported component design to contract compounding. (mg)
